Aiming to create awareness about the marketing of the products of SHGs, KVKand Sant Gadge Maharaj Trust, Mumbai has jointly organized SHG Melawa cum exhibition of the products prepared by SHGs from district in the KVK campus on 14th December, 2018.Technical and organoleptic evaluation of the exhibited products was arranged for selection of the best product amongst the displayed. Dr. Swatitai Wakekar, Director, Satpuda Eduction Society inaugurated the product exhibition. Mr. Hemant Sawant, Mr. Doifode from Sant Gadge Maharaj Trust, Mumbai and Mr. Uddhav Nekar were chief guest of this programme. Mr. Vikas Jadhao, Head, KVK, Mr. Anil Gabhane, Scienist, Mr. Shyamsuandar Borde, Scientist, and Mrs. Jyoti Bobde were among the dignitaries on the dais of the programme.
Mr. Doifode explained the management of SHG products and marketing strategies to be adopted by them. Dr. Swatitai wakekar emphasized on strengthening of the SHGs with the help of KVK. About 300 SHG members were reported and actively participated with their products for this melawa.
SHGs exhibited their products viz., various Pickles, Jam Jelly, Musli Powder, Onion Powder, Turmeric products, Murabba etc. About 65 SHG's from Jalgaon Jamod, Sangrampur, Nandura, Khamgaon, Motala and Shegaon tehsils participated in this event. Mr. Hemant Sawant assured these SHGs to provide market to their products and will render their help for marketing.
Sitaphal Mahotsav is a major event organized every year by KVK, Buldana-I. In this event all custard apple growers from entire Buldana district get participate actively every year.
This year, Sitaphal Mahotsav and Rabi Kisan Mela was organised on 26th October, 2018. On this occasion Dr. Vinay Supe, Director of Regional Research Station, Ganeshkhind, Pune under Mahatma Phule Agriculture University, Rahuri was chief guest. Mr. Krushnaraoji Ingle, Chairman of Satpuda Education society was chairperson of programme. More than 200 nos. of farmers from district were participated in this exhibition cum workshop. Dr. Vinay Supe, in his inaugural address emphasized on physiological stage of nutrient movements in crop and quality management in custard-apple. Mr. Krushnraoji Ingle urged the scientific community present for event to find solution for new epidemic pest in custard-apple crop. During said Mahotsav, the exhibition of custard-apple fruits and fruit processed products were exhibited by the farmers from region. Three farmers have been awarded by mementos, Cash prizes and certificate of excellence for their best fruit quality.
